4 years back, I used the (dis)services of Aakash International (huh)
Packers and Movers. As it has been 4 years since that experience, my
review won’t be very detailed. But as I noticed another
review of these
guys on this site today, I thought I should write one too.
I had to move some household stuff and a car from Gurgaon to Bangalore.
After taking quotes from a few packers and movers, I decided to go with
these guys as their quote seemed reasonable, the sales guys seemed ok,
and they had a neat website.
Though I had few complaints about packing and loading, except that they
did not even get markers to mark packages, delivery was an entirely
different story.
Against the promised delivery time of 5-7 days, I did not get my stuff
for 20 days. And I had to go through much anguish during this delay. I
called up many of their employees (including Sunil who seems to be the
kingpin) to find out where my stuff was, but they had no clues. After
hearing "tomorrow" and "day after" for many days, I threatened them
with lodging a police complain about my missing car and other stuff. A
little later, they stopped taking my calls.
I finally went to their Bangalore "office", which I found to be a shady
and dinghy place.
The person there after a brief hearing, went away on
the sly.
A few days later, I went to their office again, and saw my car parked
outside on the road. As I had a spare key, I drove the car back with me
as their office was closed (lack of business I guess) and I could not
wait any longer.
When my household stuff finally arrived, my washing machine was damaged
as they had not packed it in crates which they should have done.

USE OMDEO AT YOUR OWN RISK I just moved from Mumbai to Hyderabad in December 2007. Got the numbers from Just Dial and looked for the most competitive quote. And I got a visit from Omdeo along with others.
And clearly thiers was the lowest quote. Unfortunately, what I did not know is that they knew what their service was worth! Trouble started as soon as I gave the firm order. The team came in late, while we had a flight in the evening. I had told them of this plan of mine. (Me and my wife had flown in to Mumbai just for packing the previous night). We immediately found the lack of professionalism in the way they packed. When me and my wife were looking, we saw bottles simply tightened and put into the make shift cartons. When pointed out, they would tape the bottles. But mind you.
